ABOUT GENE
Gene Rardin is a life-long Johnson County resident, educated in Shawnee Mission public schools. Gene has also worked as a teacher for the Shawnee Mission District.
In addition to Gene’s Education Degree from KU, he has an Electrical Engineering degree from KU and MBA from the University of Missouri, in Kansas City.
Gene is celebrating 42 years of marriage to wife Juanita, a former public school teacher. Gene and Juanita have two grown children, Michael and Jennifer and son-in-law Darren along with granddaughters Dakotah, Alyse and Allison.
In addition to his work as a public school teacher, Gene’s professional background includes working as a Project Engineer for Kansas City Power & Light and in Training & Development Management with United Telecom Computer Group (now Sprint) and in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry.
For the last 12 years, Gene has owned his own Career Consulting and Training Business.
Gene has contributed volunteer efforts, in addition to serving as an elected Precinct Committeperson, by being a Science Fair Judge for 25 years for the Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair, a Kansas City Repertory Theatre volunteer, a youth soccer coach, and a Cub Scout Officer.
Even though Gene is a successful businessman, he grew up in a working class family. His father worked for the Post Office and his mother was a homemaker and secretary. Gene has never forgotten his roots and the values that made our middle-class society great.
